Hello and welcome! I’m Alex Morrison. I write novels and non-fiction books. I’ve published one book already (see below) and – after years of fearful prevarication – I’m officially trying to make it* as an author.
I need support from excellent people like you. To join me on this journey – and get subscriber-only stories – please sign up for my newsletter below.
It’s free and I’ll only email you once a month, so you really have nothing to lose.
* I have no measure of what making it actually means.
The story so far…
I was a journalist for ten years, starting in local newspapers before moving to the BBC. I’ve written a book about the weird world of local journalism: “There’s Someone in Reception”. The title refers to the moment when a member of the public walks in with a story to tell – often prompting reporters to dive for cover.
I’ve written fiction for a long time, and I’ve won or been shortlisted for several short story competitions. I have two novels under construction – one is nearly ready, the other is a little way off. Find out more about my fiction writing here.
I’m also part of the Dice Company podcast – in which a group of old friends tell an epic story through the mayhem of Dungeons and Dragons.
